The lymph system, being part of the circulatory system, is a major organ of the immune system. When you eat food, your body digests that food for it’s nutrients and then sends those nutrients to every living cell in your body. When the cells finish processing these nutrients some waste is created. The waste matter from each cell must be removed from the body or it will “drown” in its own waste. The lymph system, which is throughout the body, is the “highway” by which these wastes are transported from the cells to the blood to the colon and kidneys for elimination. The lymph system acts as a mini sewer system. One of its main jobs is to remove waste that was created after the cell has finished processing the nutrients.
